Another system from the OptiFlo® family is the closed system for adult intubation tube suction, which can be used for 48 hours in CH18 catheter size. This is a very good and innovative solution that greatly facilitates the work of the staff due to the size of the catheter and its diameter, which in the case of dense and large amounts of secretion passes the test. It is worth noting that each element of the closed system is sterile and the system itself is inseparable, which prevents secretion from escaping from the system and into the system. This is of great clinical importance as it minimizes the risk of cross-infection in the ward. The inability to disconnect the system also has a positive effect on patient ventilation without unnecessary PEEP pressure drops. As in the first case, the user can evaluate the condition of the suctioned secretion by means of a transparent chamber below the double-rotating connector. After each suction procedure, the atheumatic catheter inside the system can be rinsed through with a syringe or a vial of saline. The system has a vacuum activation port with a corresponding color coding for the catheter size.
